The Madras Restaurants is one of the best kept secrets in the South. Well, finding it - might be one reason. It's located between Uvita and Ochojal. When driving south, look towards the left for a big sign with a Buddha Statue. Make sure to put your 4WD in, before going up the hill. Parking is a bit tight over there – to say the least. But once you got there, it’s all worth the drive-up. The restaurant is run by a French – Canadian family, who make wicket fresh food. Enjoy Pura Vida at its best.
We just went to the fairly new restaurant in Ochojal called Mamma E Pappa, where we enjoyed exceptional great food. The restaurant is clean and super-friendly. They serve hand-made pasta, pizza and much more. They also have a few cabins for rent with a cute swimming pool. They are also very kid-friendly (swing in the garden). The restaurant is open Tuesday to Sunday. Their contact infos are: www.mammaepapa.org and 2786-5336.
Madras is a great family-run restaurant serving French, Thai and Indian food. It's located in between Uvita and Ochojal (look out for a big sign on the left with a Buddha). It is open for lunch and dinner, closed on Wednesday. Telephone number is: 2786-5524. Enjoy!
One of the great things of the southern pacific coast is the great fresh fish, vegetables and fruits. .
Some of our favorites are Citrus and Exotica in Ochojal. Great lunch and dinner at romantic and exotic scenaries.
At Parcella aka the Point in Dominicalito, you can enjoy OK fish and wine, while enjoying surfers catch a wave at sunset. Better views than food :-)

I first came to Costa Rica in 1998. I fell in love with the country right away for so many reasons. I have been coming, living and unfortunately never staying off and on since.
