Green season in Costa Rica runs from May till end of November. As
it may indicate, the green season features lots of rain, although there are
variations throughout the length of period. May and September are months, whereas you can almost feel the change in climate arrive. There are more bugs than usual, and the rain seems more unpredictable than during the months in between and after. Personally, I like the month of May in Costa Rica as it brings interesting natural phenomena as well including a few days of big bugs falling from the sky and landing on their back, only to disappear the next morning. The months of “our summer”, specifically
June, July and August are great months to visit Costa Rica. It usually just
rains in the late afternoon till morning. The rain allows the plants and flowers to show their best features, and in general the rain can have a great relaxing effect on our souls. September, October and November are really tough months for driving, and personally, I believe the rain can be sometimes overwhelming as it rains almost all day and things get muddy. On the positive side, during these months, you will get great rental car and accommodation rates!

When you are sitting on the deck of the Casa Verde, you will be able to enjoy a beautiful big Guanacaste Tree on the neighboring lot right in front of the house. This tree is not only beautiful but also the national tree of Costa Rica. For more information, visit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enterolobium_cyclocarpum.

I first came to Costa Rica in 1998. I fell in love with the country right away for so many reasons. I have been coming, living and unfortunately never staying off and on since.
