If you do not like bugs, then costa rica is probably not such a great place to visit. There are tones of them, and we actually think that is pretty cool. Especially, during the green season (April - August) and rainy season (September to early December), you will see the most interesting creatures outside but sometimes also inside the house. So, make sure you know this before booking your flight :-)
One of the questions, frequently asked is "Is the tap water safe to drink?". The Casa Verde has city water, which comes from a spring in the mountains. The locals and many foreigners/tourists drink it. We usually buy bottled water, however, use the tap water for regular cooking. Brushing your teeth with the tap water is also not a problem!
The Madras Restaurants is one of the best kept secrets in the South. Well, finding it - might be one reason. It's located between Uvita and Ochojal. When driving south, look towards the left for a big sign with a Buddha Statue. Make sure to put your 4WD in, before going up the hill. Parking is a bit tight over there – to say the least. But once you got there, it’s all worth the drive-up. The restaurant is run by a French – Canadian family, who make wicket fresh food. Enjoy Pura Vida at its best.

I first came to Costa Rica in 1998. I fell in love with the country right away for so many reasons. I have been coming, living and unfortunately never staying off and on since.
