Thanks Alison for your honest feedback. We will strive to make the house even better keeping your constructive thoughts in mind. “The River House is great. There is so much room and many options for sleeping. We were very happy when we drove up and saw where we were staying for the next four nights. The pool house is a very comfortable space to hang out. The house has a porch that encircles the entire upstairs making lounging in the hammock and relaxing a must. The evenings are cool and with a fan you don't need air conditioning. The location couldn't be better. We were so close to everything we wanted to do in the area. We were concerned at first because we kept trying to access the beaches but there was a charge. Luckily we ran into someone at the store who told us to head north from Uvita and you could access the beach just fine for free. Don't rely on the wifi at the house (it was hardly working while we were there) or the washer (not like anything I've ever seen before). Cecelia had to save us and do our laundry for us. Both of these issues were aggravating but still worth it because of all of the benefits this property offers. The guest house was a big surprise. I thought of it as the "princess house". It has air conditioning, a large bed and a full bathroom. I read reviews about the hill entering the property. Don't be intimidated by this. First of all I would never recommend renting a car that isn't a 4x4 in CR. We had no problem with the hill (even in the rain) and actually it was a bit fun. We do not speak Spanish so communicating with the caretaker and his family was challenging. But they couldn't have been kinder people and they were so patient with us. They even took us to see a sloth that was in a tree next to the pool. I especially loved Cecelia and wish I could sit and talk with her more. I recommend the river house and hope to stay here again. ”

I first came to Costa Rica in 1998. I fell in love with the country right away for so many reasons. I have been coming, living and unfortunately never staying off and on since.
